Uncle Ken

Super nice big 5 year old~

Uncle Ken came to us from his connections at Delaware Park. A nicely bred son of the top stallion Uncle Mo, he was an $130K RNA as a yearling. He won his first start but strained his suspensory in his second start, and his owners decided to retire him. He has had over a year rehab and has healed nicely- Ken is ready for a new career. For his first ride back, he stood at the block like a champ and walked, trotted and cantered both ways without any fuss. Ken is green but very sensible, a nice mover, and more of a kick ride. He is still maturing and should finish at about 17h. Good bone and feet, but he is a cribber. (We do not keep a strap on him.) Another great candidate for a first time TB owner.

Up to date on everything. Backed by our program’s reputation of honesty and transparency. All MAHR horses  can come to our series of all TB clinics here in MD for FREE.

UPDATE- November 2023-Ken has had some schooling issues lately- he lost his right lead for some reason and is uncomfortable picking it up- he is also a bit fussy at the trot- we added new horses to his field and he did get kicked behind his left elbow- at any rate, we are trying to sort him out…

UPDATE DECEMBER 2023- Ken has been seen by a vet and chiropractor and we really cant see why he is so uncomfortable picking up the canter- we are regrouping and just working on forward at walk and trot, trying to get him stronger and more willing……
