Son of Aponi was broken and started early in his racing career but a great trainer and friend. He was ridden regularly by Andie, one of our riders. His weekly training included lots of riding out at Fair Hill cross country, popping over logs, and ring work , as well as prep for racing. He was a somewhat successful runner and then was claimed by a top trainer at Delaware Park. Unfortunately he bowed so his connections donated him to MAHR. He has had over a year of rehab. The tendon is not pretty but it is cold and hard and he is sound. His first ride back in 13 months was totally uneventful- he stood at the block and quietly walked trotted and cantered on a soft rein- but we didnt expect anything different!
Poni is a super nice guy ready for a new career! Barefoot, sound, no vices, easy to live with and a lovely mover. We have had several horses with big bows go on to compete successfully, including at the RRP makeover in eventing, hunters, and jumpers.
