Smart Step

Smart Step came to us through MD’s Beyond the Wire when he no longer was competitive after earning over $125K. He arrived with an ulcer in his eye- we were treating it medically at our rehab farm and had it just about healed -but then one morning it basically imploded. He was in a lot of pain so we sent him to New Bolton to remove the eye. It has totally healed  and he is comfortable and has adjusted perfectly to only having one eye. (Bev grew up riding a horse with just one eye and that horse did everything- A rated hunter shows, eventing, hunting, pony club, lessons, etc.)

We originally placed him as a riding horse but he became increasingly unhappy under tack so we are placing him as a pasture pet.

All MAHR companion horses are up to date on vet, dental, and farrier work. We do transfer ownership and require a $1- fee and contract. They cannot be resold but must come back to MAHR in the event they are no longer needed. We will deliver them and pick them up.
