B.g., 16.2h, 2008 Adoption Fee: ADOPTED

Big and easy going gelding

“Monty” was adopted from MAHR in 2013 but his adopter got busy starting a family and time got away from them, so he didn’t get much riding time. His adopter finally decided to send him back to us but Monty was so happy there that he wouldn’t get on a trailer! We finally sent our shipper to get him and she got him on and took him straight to Sally Shirley’s for a refresher course. Sally got him going again under saddle- he was never a problem there- and also reviewed Trailering101. Once he was ready, he came back to us but did make a pit stop at our shipper’s farm for 10 days to work on Trailering201, where he practiced self loading. He is now back at MAHR and ready for adoption. He has an old dropped hip from his early years but it is hard to see and does not limit him. Monty is a push ride and a BIG boy. Barefoot and sound. He hasn’t done any jumping but there is no reason why he can’t start.

Up to date on everything. Backed by our program’s reputation of honesty and transparency. All MAHR horses receive $200- towards lessons or training thanks to the ASPCA® On the Right Track Voucher program and can come to our series of all TB clinics here in MD for FREE.
