Punto recently came to us from Adena Springs (FL) where he had the best of everything growing up. He got hurt before he ever ran – a condylar fracture that was surgically repaired with two screws- and had proper rehab and plenty of down time. He came to us to restart and he has been EASY. Good mover, very sweet and kind, and a TON of presence. Our vet feels he will be perfectly suited for a mid level career. While LandRover KY probably isn’t in his future, it doesn’t matter because we could see him excelling in the show ring. TAKE 2 anyone?
UPDATE- his potential adoption fell through so he is available. He has been vetted and we have current xrays of his ankle which are available for viewing. He was mildly positive on right front flexion, but xrays showed no real change from his post op films as a three year old. He has some slight arthritis but is totally suitable for a mid level career. Our vet recommended a one time injection of HA which we did this week, and said he may benefit from Adequan or Legends maintenance down the road if he is going to do a lot of jumping. He is suited to to the show ring or eventing, trails, or dressage, but the turn and burn of jumpers wouldn’t be in his best interest- and he is so laid back and easy we don’t think he would be suited for that anyway. Punto is a confidence building steady guy, great first thoroughbred. He has so much to offer!
