Kowboy King came to us from his connections at Delaware Park. He fractured his sesamoid in June 2020, after a long successful career, winning 14 out of 75 races and over $275K. His owner/trainer did the acute rehab and then we took him and turned him out for a year. He just came back to our main farm in Warwick: we literally pulled him out of the field, threw the tack on, and went to the ring. He stood like a statue at the mounting block and happily walked, trotted, and cantered around like a pro. He quickly got adopted but recent life changes for his adopter brought him back to us.
Kowboy is looking for a trail or dressage home–he can pop over low stuff but probably should not have a big jumping career in order to keep him sound and happy for the future.e was always sound for his previous adopter. Kowboy is barefoot and happy. He can be a little nippy at times but he isn’t mean, he just wants attention! He can be bossy in the field with certain horses, and gets chased around by others, so he is just trying to find his spot in the herd.
He is 100% reliable under saddle and suitable for a novice rider. He is a big boy and can carry a larger rider. What a totally cool dude!
