Golden Daisy

Lovely easy mare with a great foundation~

Daisy came to us off the track back in 2020 and was promptly adopted. Her adopter gave her a great foundation in dressage- she competed Training and First Level and was working on second level movements. She recently was returned due to a change in her adopter’s situation and we were happy to have her back! We did transition her to barefoot and unfortunately with the horrible hot and wet weather we have had, she developed rain rot across her hind end, but we are giving her regular medicated baths and it is healing well.

Daisy is a lovely ride with a super foundation. Her former adopter reported she was the same horse at home and away at shows. She never jumped her but we introduced  fences the other day and she took it all in stride. Daisy can go in any direction!

Update 8/30- Daisy had a PPE done- her feet have been soft and she is still transitioning to barefoot- she has been sound, just a bit iffy on her feet when she comes out. On the day of the PPE, as expected she was slightly off- after blocking her she was still slightly off on her right hind, so X-rays were done- they showed two gas abscess tracts and some very minor arthritic changes in the hind fetlock, so they decided to pass. Again, she has been sound for her former adopter and for us except for the barefoot thing-  this is the first time we ever saw any unevenness behind-but that is fine, we want our adopters to be totally comfortable with their decisions. We have asked for the rads. Again, this is a super nice mare, with three good gaits and a nice jump!
