Food and Wine came to us last year from Delaware Park- some of you may remember he was the subject of an investigation at the track when he worked on an injured bow and reinjured his leg. We took him in and gave him the time and rehab he needed, with help from a generous fundraiser by Chef’s Expressions at the Manor Tavern in Monkton MD. He came in from our rehab farm a few weeks ago and we started him back- he was foot perfect. Mounting block √ Walk trot canter √ quiet and sensible √ Handsome √√√
UPDATE- He has an old bow that is cold and tight. A routine ultrasound showed an area that wasn’t quite filled in- there is still a 10% lesion- and it is the opinion of the vets that he should not have a big jumping career. We are disappointed but none more than his prospective adopter….but we will find him a great home…..He would suit a novice rider- He has the best mind and is very fancy and kind- we could see him doing dressage, pleasure, or trail.
UPDATE #2- March 2023- we hadn’t ridden Foodie in a while and he must have decided he likes vacation- the last two times we brought him in to ride he was a bit spicy and uncooperative- so we will get him back in work and try to get the old Foodie back on track….
