End Play came to us from MD’s Beyond the Wire. He “reportedly” had a slab fracture at some point in the past- he was sound when we got him in last year, but because of the supposed old fracture, we gave him a year off. We brought him into the main farm a few months ago and restarted him- he was super easy and kind. We had his knees re-xrayed to see how things looked and lo and behold, there was NO SIGN of any fracture at all. We circled back to his track connections and there was never any proof that he had ever had a fracture, it was just hearsay. SO! End Play is cleared for anything, although he is super laid back, so not sure he is going to be an upper level event horse or jumper LOL. Barefoot and sound, no vices. Perfect first thoroughbred!
End Play had a PPE and had a mild positive flexion on his right front ankle- the potential adopter decided not to proceed. We had our vet out and repeated all flexions and he was negative everywhere except for the ankle. Xrays showed two very old small rounded fragments off the bottom of the sesamoid, probably the result of an avulsion from his racing days– so he should probably only have a lower level jumping career, dressage, trails, etc. We have reduced his fee and xrays are available, as well as videos of the flexion exams. This is a super nice horse suited for any level rider without high aspirations.
