Bourbon came to us from his owner/breeder who raised him and raced him at Delaware Park. He broke his maiden but that was about it. He spent a few months playing pony in the mornings and then when the season ended he went home. His owner/breeder figured he would be wasted if he didn’t have a second career so sent him off for some retraining this year with the hopes of finding him a great new home. Bourbon was getting a bit “stuck” on the flat only doing ring work, and the trainer didn’t feel equipped to go any further, so they called us.
Bourbon has been very easy to ride and live with. He can be a little nappy at times but a growl and a smack and he gets over himself. He is a son of Bourbon Courage who throws easy going, pretty horses and this guy is no different. He would probably love to get out of the ring and go cross country- in fact his nervous owner did successfully take him on a trail ride once when he was home. This guy comes with a complete history and his owner/breeder would love to stay in touch and follow him in his new career.
