What a great guy!

Don’t Get Caught came to us late in 2024 from his track connections after he bowed a tendon. A son of popular MD stallion Friesan Fire, he won two out of his four starts but it was the end of the season, and his owner trainer was moving out so we took in both of his horses. We gave him plenty of time to heal – the rehab farm couldn’t say enough nice things about his personality and manners. We just started him back and he was amazing! Sensible, soft, and easy to ride- he is a decent mover and we expect with a little more body work and schooling he will develop more swing to his step. Video is of his first ride in a year and a half, just days after arriving at the main farm. He would be perfect for a rerider, a kid coming off a pony, or a first time thoroughbred owner, yet he has unlimited potential.

UPDATE: Don’t Get Caught had a PPE including a back X-ray which showed some changes in his spine so the potential adopter opted to pass. We want our adopters to be comfortable with their horses for sure. We do stand behind them always and they can always come back here. We also understand the time, love, and money people put into their horses and we all want things to work.

Honestly, back X-rays are really tough because just because a horse shows changes does not mean they are or will be clinical-there is just no way of knowing! Most vets seem to wince when they are asked to X-ray the back. It wasn’t too long ago that back X-rays and kissing spines were not a thing, but now ……. There was a study in Texas where 60% off horses xrayed showed changes in the spine yet only 1-2% ever developed symptoms.

Bottom line, he is available again and we have made an adjustment to his fee- he is still a totally awesome, safe, fun partner!
