Nice big guy with trail riding miles~

Corsario recently came to us from his breeder. Retired in 2019 after 31 starts and 3 wins, he was placed with a friend of the breeder who spent the last five years trail riding. That person could no longer keep him and returned him to his breeder as originally agreed upon. His breeder called us, as it was silly to let a nice big sound horse sit around and do nothing.

He has been here for about a week and is still settling in. Rio is a lovely ride with three good gaits and lots of presence. He is however a big bull in the barn and on the ground- we are working on that. Once we get that a little better, he will be available for adoption. We think he would make one helluva man’s fox hunter. Barefoot, sound, no vices with a lot of bone.

UPDATE 7/12- week two- Corsario is a changed man! It hasn’t taken much for him to become a good citizen- perhaps being at his breeders farm surrounded by mares and foals was too much for him- some horses just can’t deal with that. He now comes in and stays quietly in the stall, stands in the stall while tacking, and walking quietly out to the ring. He rode today with another horse in the ring and was a very good boy!
