Brutus came to us from his owner- she knew him during his racing days and when he ended up at a lesser track, she was worried he would fall through the cracks and bought him, even though she really didn’t need a second horse LOL. She gave him some turnout time while trying to figure out a boarding situation but in the end, she realized that a second horse just wasn’t in the cards, so she brought him to us. This nicely bred son of the great Ghostzapper is a war horse- he won 9 races and over $220K in his career.
He has been a super good citizen- very easy to ride and forgiving. More of a kick ride and nothing bothers him. He does have osselots – our vet does not feel he will be that limited but he probably won’t be an upper level horse- he is too laid back for that anyway! We do have vet records here.
Brutus is barefoot with no vices. He has good bone and a solid frame and is very easy to live with.
Up to date on everything. Backed by our program’s reputation of honesty and transparency. All MAHR horses can attend our series of all TB clinics here in MD for FREE.
UPDATE: Brutus had a pending adoption but was mildly positive on flexion so the adopter decided to pass. We had our vet evaluate him and he was still mildly positive so we took xrays which showed what we knew all along- he has osselots. There is also a small chip but it does not interfere with the joint and shouldn’t bother him. He is suitable for mid level work including jumping, and as with most horses, a joint supplement down the road may benefit him. Rads are available.
