Broad Expanse

B.g., 15.3h, 2015. 2021 RRP Makeover Eligible. Adoption Fee: $1800- Adopted

What a nice guy!

Broad Expanse is another nice horse from MD’s Beyond the Wire program.  This handsome son of the great Curlin won almost $100K in  his racing career in just 26 starts. An apical fracture of his sesamoid ended his racing career in February 2020. He had arthroscopic surgery and then rehab, and was recently cleared for a return to work. Recent xrays show that it has healed well, and he is cleared for mid level work- jumping to 3 ft, etc. He won’t be a good candidate for the Land Rover 3DE, but how many horses are? Broad Expanse has a lovely mouth- very soft and educated- and a nice natural balance in all three gaits. He is sensible and kind and easy to ride. He hadn’t been under tack since he left the track earlier this year, and he was another one who stood nicely at the block and went right to work in spite of the chill in the air and the strong breeze.

Up to date on everything. Backed by our program’s reputation of honesty and transparency. All MAHR horses receive $200- towards lessons or training thanks to the ASPCA® On the Right Track Voucher program and can come to our series of all TB clinics here in MD for FREE. Adoption fee $1800-. Located in Warwick, MD. PM or email Bev@MidAtlanticHorseRescue.org to meet Broad Expanse.

Update- Kaylee came to meet Brody two months ago and fell in love- when she came back for her second ride, he had stepped on something very sharp and had a slice in his sole- which ended up being the abscess from H#!!-. Hoping it will resolve soon so we can finalize his adoption!

Adopted!

Update 5/9/20- the state of MD is now open for riding, but we must practice social distancing, etc.
