Border Crossing is a kill pen save- he was ridden at the pen bareback with no issues at all. We were able to buy him thanks to our supporters and return him to good health. He is super quiet on the ground and under saddle without a rider, but adding a rider was painful- he would hump his back and want to buck but wouldn’t- we knew it had to be pain related because without a rider he is lovely. We xrayed his back and found that he did indeed have kissing spines. Xrays are available. Our vet feels that if someone brought him along properly, with a lot of work on the lunge to build up his core and open up his back, he will be able to have a riding career, but we would need to find the perfect person.
All MAHR companion horses are up to date on vet, dental, and farrier work. We do transfer ownership and require a $1- fee and contract. They cannot be resold but must come back to MAHR in the event they are no longer needed. We will deliver them and pick them up.
