Black Hope was born and raised in MD. He started his racing career in the US but was exported to Pureto Rico early in 2021. After a mediocre career there, his connections retired him to our friends at Caribbean Thoroughbred Aftercare. Thanks to support from MD’s Back Stop program, his breeders at Country Life Farm, a fundraising dinner by Chef’s Expressions at the Manor Tavern, and a donation in memory of a young lady who passed away recently, he made his way back to the states and to us in MD. We gave him time to recover from his long journey and recently restarted him. He is the sweetest guy! Totally beginner friendly. Confidence builder. His favorite gait is “mosey.” At this point he is hard pressed to canter for any length of time. As you can see from the pictures, he has huge osselots- but he is sound and they shouldn’t bother him at all. We have him listed as limited use simply because from a personality standpoint, that is him- he doesn’t have any great aspirations to run anywhere fast or jump anything high. He is a cribber but it is controlled with a strap. Barefoot and sound.
