Big Secret

Gentle giant~

Big Secret came to us indirectly from Maryland’s Beyond the Wire. He never raced due to hip atrophy on his left hind- it was something he always had, although no one knew why, but his connections decided not to race him and placed him and another horse with an older couple to ride around their farm. Fast forward a few years — the wife of the adopter became quite ill and they were no able to care for the horses, so they called the former race trainer who called Beyond the Wire who called us…..we went and picked up both horses- they were quite thin and wormy and in need of a farrier.

Big Secret is now ready for a new home. His hip atrophy looks much better now that he is fatter (see pic) but it is there. He moves evenly though and is a nice mover. Very easy to ride. He is BIG. Good bone and feet, sound with no vices.

Our apologies for how fuzzy and dirty he is- we figure time in the saddle is more important at this time of year-we can either spend an hour grooming or tack up and ride…
