Stablemates offers a unique and enriching equine-assisted learning experience designed to foster meaningful human-horse connections in a peaceful, supportive stable setting. Centered around weekly grooming and bonding sessions with a participant-selected horse, individuals are invited to engage in quiet, non-competitive interaction through petting, grooming, and gentle companionship.
Set in a safe and dynamic environment alongside retired racehorses, each session is guided by an experienced equine specialist who helps facilitate a calm and rewarding experience for both participants and horses. At the heart of Stablemates is the experience of unconditional acceptance, where both horse and human benefit from intentional, focused attention and meaningful connection. As participants nurture bonds with these retired athletes, they also play an active role in helping stabilize each horse’s transition from the racetrack to a forever home.
Whether you’re looking for a moment of calm, a deeper connection with animals, or a chance to contribute to a horse’s healing journey, Stablemates offers a gentle and powerful path forward—helping humans and horses alike find grounding, trust, and a renewed sense of stability.
