Casa Grande came to us from MD’s Beyond the Wire. He showed no racing ability in seven starts so his connections knew it was time for a new career. He is clean and sound, and a nice mover. Video is from his very first ride- he was a bit high headed trying to see over our hedges but never put a foot wrong. We are excited for his next rides- he tries very hard to do the right thing. He has great swing to his walk and that canter is lovely!!!!
Update November 1- Casa crashed pretty significantly after that first ride- lost a lot of weight, had some unidentified soundness issues, etc., so we stopped and gave him time time time! He has put weight back on and is totally sound but now much more quick and unsettled under tack, so we are taking our time to give him a good foundation….as Forrest Gump’s mother said, life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get…..and the same can be said for horses.
Update November 14th- Casa is coming along nicely, learning that he does not need to try so hard- we are working on rhythm and relaxation and he gets better every ride~
