Elusive Hero came to us from MD’s Beyond the Wire after 7 wins in just 24 starts with earnings of over $150K. He retired with large non displaced chips in the upper joint of  his right knee with some arthritis. This was not a surgical case and the surgeon said that often these horses heal well and are serviceably sound, and Hero seems to fit the bill. He may be able to jump but it is probably safest for him to have a new career with a rider who doesn’t want to do a lot of jumping.  He is a lovely mover and very sensible and straightforward to ride. He has a bit of presence so would excel at dressage, and has the mind to be a great trail partner. He is happy to leave his friends in the field and work in the ring, even with the neighbors playing racehorse in the adjacent pasture.
