Smart Dixie Jones, ch.g., 16.0+h, 2012

Dixie came to us through MD's new Beyond the Wire aftercare program. He took some time for his feet to rehab and we started him back in work. He was initially uneven behind, but has gotten better with work. Someone was interested in him as a 3'6" show hunter and had him vetted. His hock xrays were clean but back xrays showed some lesions and impingement, so he is not suitable for such a high level job. Vet says he will be fine for lower level stuff. Proper flat work is the key, getting him to lift his back and use himself properly. Dixie is easy to ride with a big lopey canter, but he is a goofball in the barn, always wanting to play with a lead shank or whatever in his mouth. Started over x's. Adoption fee reduced. Check back for a video.
